No dogs are currently available!

If you are interested in being notified if and when a dog might become available, please get in touch! I often let dogs go to folks I’ve placed dogs with before, before listing a dog as available.

I love and care for my dogs, and want them to succeed, and place them in homes that will be a good fit for them, and also for their new person. I prioritize helping out female mushers with good dogs—especially female mushers looking to improve their team and reach a new level racing. I also help out as a mentor with folks who have my dogs when I can.

If I don’t have dogs available, I still recommend getting in touch as I can probably help you find other high quality athletes through the network of mushers I’m connected to.

Thank you to mushers who have welcomed Shady Pines dogs into their kennels this year, and in years past!

You can read more about the dogs who have been placed here.

As always, feel free to get in touch, as I do let dogs go from time to time.

About adding an experienced race dog to your team:

  • Depending on the dog, many come with a lot of race experience, including being handled at vet checks, understanding the routine of a checkpoint, and charging through Main Street start lines.

  • I have a zero-tolerance policy for bad sled dog behavior such as line chewing. I am up front with any strengths and weaknesses of each dog..

  • Shady Pines dogs are trained to be loose and can be off leash when hiking. Many of them are already familiar with couch life, as I often bring dogs inside.
