Chicken

Chicken is a happy girl. Her tail is always going, she’s always leaping in the air, she’s always looking for someone to play with. Chickie has a lust for life, and I feel like I spent a lot of time saying ‘Chicken to her while she sort of ignores me, tail wagging a million miles an hour.’ She’s just a happy girl.

Chicken came as a dog swap with friends Matt and Erin, swapping shaggy Modica for lean Chicken. Chicken loves to lead training runs, but prefers being further back in the team during races. Chicken did step up to lead Greenville for a few miles with Skee to get up and over Blue Ridge, but moved backwards once we were down into the valley again. Chicken raced in Copper Dog, in the back of the team, and loved every minute of it.

This year, Chicken’s primary role is hanging out with the yearlings as a leader and all-round cheerleader. Chicken has been training Slayer, Swarm and Mattie in lead, and loves her job. And, we love Chicken.
