Clipper
Clipper is a Clipper. He’s big, he’s gangly, and he’s utterly ridiculous. He’s also loving, enthusiastic, and simultaneously strong and smooshy. His dad, Jax, has what I call ‘puppy paws’—when he leaps at you, flings his paws forward, and grabs at you with the grip of tiny pups holding onto their mom. Clipper has chosen to make that move his entire personality.
Clipper is one of the yearlings that has taken the longest to find his trot—and now that he has, he’s invisible in the team, a flat back trotting down the trail. Or, as invisible as a white dog can be in a sea of dark bodies. He has potential in the front, but has a complete lack of discipline, so if he’s in front of the team I can’t stop. Clipper is fine without stopping, so maybe there is a potential there!
A fan favorite since birth, Clipper still resembles a Labrador retriever with his floppy ears and layer of seal fat. For his resemblance to his dad, he is probably more like his mom than his sister Mattock—he has the Princess dedication to his house, and even woo-woos like his grandma Aurora. We love you, Clipper.

Clipper is named after the Alberta Clipper, my favorite kind of snow storm: fast moving, light fluffy snow. For Clip’s first winter, almost all of our snowstorms were Clippers, which we hadn’t had in a few years. I don’t think that was an accident. Thank you Clipper for bringing back the Clipper!
