Slayer

As a puppy, at the same time Slayer earned two separate nicknames from Chuck and Auntie Laura—‘El Presidente’ and ‘Most likely to run for president.’ Maybe it’s her adorable chestnut ears, earnest face, and fun loving personality, but Slayer does have the charisma and sense of self and purpose to enter politics and win elections. My version of this nickname is ‘Slayer for President’.

Slay spends a lot of time on her hind legs, balancing with her paws in the air: to get a better look at the puppies, to watch me with food buckets, and most importantly asking for hugs. All of her siblings love toys, like their mom Venus, but Slayer has her favorites and brings them into her house. Slayer has some leader potential for sure—she’s a party in lead, barreling ahead.
